I’ve lost (and gained) several hundreds of pounds over my lifetime. I’ve learned that it’s not a ‘diet’ you seek, but rather a mindset. Food is like medicine and you need to learn to feed your body properly. Every body is different so you will have to find the eating plan that works for you.
I will encourage you to keep a food log. I will also encourage you to find a nutritional counselor to deal with the food aspect. I really don’t care about the foods you eat, just how they affect you. When you work on weight loss coaching with me, you share with me your methods and observations. We focus on problem solving and goal setting.
I will be your biggest cheerleader and strongly encourage you to focus on your wins. There are things such as Non-Scale Victories (NSVs) and well, I want you to celebrate yours. For example, so far, I have lost 8 pants sizes, not even sure how many top sizes, a cup size and shoe size. Wow! I’ve also:
- Been able to fit on an airplane without a seatbelt extender or extra seat,
- Fit into restaurant booths with comfort,
- Sit in a movie theater seat without encroaching upon my husband or daughter’s space,
- and so much more.
